Industrial clusters

In parallel with the establishment of industrial zones, there're clusters of industry and handicraft at all districts. According to the planning of industrial development in Phu Yen province in period of 2000-2010 approved by the provincial People's Committee at Decision No. 637 / QD-UB dated 13/4/1988, the land for the construction of the industrial clusters (besides the land for industrial parks) with a total area of ​​770 ha, including: City industrial cluster (including Phu Lam townlet) of 200 ha, Chi Thach Industrial cluster of 70 ha, Song Cau industrial cluster of 70 to 100 ha, Dong Bo industrial cluster of 100 ha, Son Hoa industrial cluster of 100 ha, Song Hinh industrial cluster of 100 ha, Dong Xuan industrial cluster of  100 ha.

It has formed before the day of Phu Yen re-establishment (01/7/1989) with about 10 small businesses, to 2010, this industrial cluster had over 30 small and medium enterprises, using over 12 hectares of land , operating mainly in the fields: manufacturing import and export goods including garments, footwear, wood, cashew nut; beer beverage; machining, metal casting, auto repairing, Steel sheets and beams, steel net... The Industrial Cluster is located in the inner-city area with favorable condition of infrastructure for development and stretching along the National Highway 1A convenient for transportation, using the workforce of management, scientific and technical staff and skilled workers concentrated in Tuy Hoa city.

Dong Tac Industrial cluster

Formed in 1995, Dong Tac IC has been arranged along the route from Dong Tac railway station to Tuy Hoa airport movements to develop the industry serving for Hoa Hiep industrial park and creating jobs for labors by the development of Hoa Hiep Industrial Park. So The enterprises invest in this IC having the spacious area, and arranged quite convenient for both road and railway.

However, besides the advantages land the Dong Tac IC still has not detailed plan so the construction of infrastructure as well as policies to attract investment, to prepare human resources ... to serve the development of the cluster are unresolved synchronizedly and timely. Therefore the development of IC is so slow, by 2010 only 10 businesses operating with area of ​​about 6 hectares.

According to the Master plan approved by the provincial People's Committee at Decision No. 2382/QD-UBND dated 21/10/2005, the province will have 24 industrial clutters with total area over 150ha ( able to expand to 300ha) and arranged in 9 districts, city. Till now there have been eight industrial clusters which the Province allows to set up the procedure of  infrastructure investment projects including the Hoa An industrial cluster (Phu Hoa), Tam Giang IC (Tuy An district), Hoa My Dong IC (Tuy Hoa district), La Hai IC (Dong Xuan district), Ba Ban IC (Son Hoa district), Hai Rieng IC (Song Hinh district), Song Cau Town IC (Song Cau district) and mechanical engineering, automotive repairing IC (Tuy Hoa city). So far 5 of the ICs have been allowed for investment; including 2 ICs has basically completed the investment in infrastructure with 10 invested  enterprises and 7 investing enterprises.
